Villans Worldwide in its 2nd season.... has undergone a few changes and will continue to change in order to better meet the needs of supporters living overseas, particularly those in remote locations.
WHAT IT MEANS FOR USSo another season is over and I thought I might reflect on what it has meant for us specifically, not just as Villa fans, but as members of Villans Worldwide. The site has gone from strength to strength as membership increases, and the online club continually undergoes changes to improve its services for members. In no particular order I’ll highlight some of my favourite memories of the site membership this season. First up is the online forums where we chat regularly and which seemed to get more busy, with more members, as the season progressed. The recent change in format brought a fresh new look to the forums and seemed to have been greeted warmly by all involved. People from all over the world and every walk of life have come together to chat about the Villa, organise trips, exchange stories or even just tell a joke. With a new season of possibilities ahead of us, and the transfer window open, the forums will get busier and busier. The online activities such as quizzes and the prediction league have been warmly received and will no doubt be a big hit in the new season. For chances to win Villa merchandise and test your knowledge about the mighty Claret and Blue log on and give them a bash. The prediction league will be a highlight for members next season, so join early and make sure you are in the running... there should be a big prize on this one ;) A few members, including myself, got to meet up and go to the Villa/Bluenose game in what was a fantastic weekend. We had a drink in the newly refurbished Holte Hotel and got to see the Villa thrash their local rivals. Tickets were ordered via the site after the game sold out in 2 days! 2 members of the site also got to meet Wilfred Bouma as Villans Worldwide became his official sponsor. Supergrandadjohn and Noggie met our left back and got presented signed footballs and a framed Bouma shirt. A similar initiative will be set up next season. It’s been a progressive year for the online club, just as it has been for the Villa, and just like the Villa, our futures bright!! By: Jordan McEvoy |
