The official site has published the new shirt numbers for the first team squad for the 2009/10 season.

• Stewart Downing gets Gareth Barry’s No 6 shirt
• Marc Albrighton moves up from 45 to 12
• Fabian Delph gets Zat Knight’s old No 16
• Habib Beye gets No 23
• Andreas Weimann gets a shirt number for the first time – No 42

The following players that had a shirt number last season have not been given shirt numbers:

Stephen O’Halloran (29). David Bevan (40), Harry Forrester (41), Adam McGurk (52), Matthew Roome (54) and Sam Simmonds (55).

UPDATE: Andy Marshall signed on 12 August 2009 - he gets the No. 33 shirt.

UPDATE:Stephen Warnock signs from Blackburn Rovers on 27 August 2009 for an undisclosed fee.  He gets the No. 25 shirt.

UPDATE: Two transfer deadline day signings on 1 September 2009 - James Michael Collins and Richard Dunne.  Dunne gets Martin Laursen's No. 5 shirt and Collins gets the No. 29 shirt.
