Marc Albrighton joined Villa as an eight-year-old after being rejected by West Bromwich Albion, according to the Aston Villa Player Database at web.telia.com. He is one of the promising youngsters at Villa’s Under 18 Academy where he has been since the 2006/07 season and was a member of the successful Academy team in the 2007/08 season, and also made regular appearances (often as a substitute) for the reserves.

Albrighton puts away a few goals too! Marc is an England Under 18 international. On 1 July 2008, Marc was given a new two-year contract at Villa. He was included in the first team squad to travel to Switzerland on 8 July 2008 for a pre-season tour with games against FC Wil 1900 and FC Zurich.
